ikigai-test.online ("we", "our", or "us") is a free tool that helps you explore your Ikigai — your sense of purpose — by scoring interests across four pillars: passion, mission, vocation, and profession. We are committed to being transparent about how we handle data. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

2. Information We Collect

We do not collect any personally identifiable information (PII) such as names, email addresses, or account credentials. The only data we process is:

• Interest selections and scores — the interests you choose and the scores you assign during the assessment. This data is anonymous and contains no information that could identify you.
• Session ID — a randomly generated UUID created when you share your results. This is stored in your browser's local storage and used only to retrieve a previously saved result.
• Browser language preference — stored in local storage to remember your selected language (English or Spanish).

3. How We Store Data

When you choose to share your results, your anonymous interest scores are saved to a secure database (Amazon DynamoDB, hosted on AWS in the US). This data is automatically deleted after 30 days via a time-to-live (TTL) mechanism. No backups of this data are retained beyond that period.

Session progress is also saved locally in your browser's localStorage under the key ikigai-store, so you can resume if you refresh the page. This data stays on your device and is never transmitted unless you explicitly share your results.

4. Cookies and Third-Party Advertising

This site uses Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google AdSense uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site and other sites on the internet.

Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the internet. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.

5. Affiliate Links

We do not sell, trade, or rent your data to third parties. Anonymous assessment data may be transmitted to our AWS backend solely for the purpose of generating a shareable link. Google AdSense operates independently under its own privacy policy.

7. Your Rights

Since we collect no PII, there is no personal profile to access, correct, or delete. However:

• You can clear your local session data at any time by clearing your browser's local storage for this site.
• Any shared result stored in our database will be automatically deleted within 30 days.
• You can opt out of Google personalized ads via Google Ads Settings.

8. Children's Privacy

This site is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Changes to This Policy
